Singapore has announced a major expansion of Jurong Island, its core energy and chemicals hub, to accelerate renewable energy deployment and support the growth of digital infrastructure. Industrial interest in Jurong continues to rise. Sembcorp Industries recently piloted a “battery stacking” solution that vertically expands storage capacity from 285 to 326 megawatt-hours, optimizing land use in the city-state’s dense industrial environment [2].
