The Department of Communities has launched its inaugural Climate Action and Sustainability Strategy 2024-2027, marking a significant step toward advancing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives. Key initiatives already underway include the development of energy-efficient home designs and programs aimed at improving water and energy efficiency in existing housing stock. These efforts align with the broader mission to reduce carbon emissions and implement a robust 탄소 중립 전략 for the state. 

The strategy also integrates policies addressing Closing the Gap, Safety and Wellbeing, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, ensuring a well-rounded approach to sustainability.
